LIT 260 - Contemporary Literature and Social Justice

3 Cr.
Contact Hours Per Week: 3 Lec

This course will focus on the relationship between social justice and contemporary literature. Students will consider contemporary novels, essays, and poems alongside the words and the deeds of activists during social movements such as the Black Lives Matter, #MeToo, and climate justice issues. Diverse and intersecting aspects of difference are central to the course including ethnicity, race, class, and gender.

Pre-Requisites: ENG 102 or ENG 103 or permission of the instructor with concurrent registration of ENG 102 or ENG 103
