COM 103 - Writing for the Media

3 Cr.
This course will introduce the student to the fundamentals of writing for the print and electronic media. Topics covered include importance of writing skills for media careers; identifying differing styles of media writing; writing news for newspapers, radio and television; copywriting for the electronic media; editing, proofreading and rewriting skills. Emphasis will be placed on practical application of writing skills learned by students.(Usually offered Fall and Spring semesters.)

Pre-Requisites: ENG 101 or permission of the instructor.
