MUS 227 - Introduction to Classical Guitar

1 Cr.
This course is an introduction to the repertoire and technical challenges of the classical guitar. Emphasis will be placed on proper right and left hand technique. The study of the Segovia scales, Giuliani arpeggios, Carcassi etudes, and Andrew York’s Seven Discernments will give a basic introduction to tone production, interpretation, and repertoire building. This course is designed to be played on a traditional nylon string classical guitar (supplied by student).

Pre-Requisites: MUS 125 and MUS 126 or permission of the instructor.
