NUR 112 - Nursing II8 Cr.
NUR 112, Nursing II, focuses on short term interruptions that affect individuals’ ability to meet their needs, as described by Maslow, throughout various developmental stages. The Nursing Process, with emphasis on planning and implementation, will be utilized in assisting the individual to achieve an optimal level of health. Concentration will be on the individual who is experiencing a short term interruption due to surgery or pregnancy. Psychomotor skills will be developed and assessed through the use of the College, Clinical Laboratory and Simulation Lab. Theoretical principles and nursing techniques will be correlated throughout the course with subsequent application and evaluation in the clinical laboratory. The Simulation Lab will be used to apply theoretical principles and nursing techniques. Student participation in a variety of acute and community health settings provides an overview of the health care delivery system.
Restricted to Nursing students. (Offered spring semester.)
Pre-Requisites: BIO 213E/L, NUR 111, NUR 105 and PSY 110. Concurrent requirement that may have prior completion: PHA 250, BIO 214E/L and PSY 210. Current certification required in Basic Cardiac Life Support, CPR for the Professional Rescuer. Satisfactory physical examination with designated immunizations. Co-Requisites: NUR112C, NUR112L
