MUS 137 - Music for Film

3 Cr.

This course provides a chronological overview of music’s roll in film. It introduces basic elements of music and narrative film in order to gain appreciation for the combined artistic effects of the two forms. It looks at film’s history. It focuses on films most significant works, composers and orchestrators. It also provides a comparison of trends in other artistic mediums, such as the development of rock and roll and in the context of world and national events. (Usually offered every other semester)
