THA 110 - Black Drama and Film

3 Cr.

A survey of African-American Theatre and motion picture companies, personages, and major events which comprise the history of African-American drama and film from the twentieth century to the present. The course will also explore the development of performance techniques and themes that speak to the needs of African-American audiences.
Pre-Requisites: AAC 042, ENG 099, or waiver through testing.
General Education: Meets SUNY requirement for The Arts (AR) and The Humanities (H). No course used to satisfy the Humanities requirement may be used to satisfy another category.
