BIO 100 - Concepts in Biology

3 Cr.
Contact Hours Per Week: 3 Lec.

This is a one-semester survey course of special topics in biology. Unifying principles in biology will be emphasized. The cellular nature of life will initially be examined so students can gain a basic understanding of the nature of living organisms. This will be followed by discussions of environmental principles (ecology) and patterns of inheritance (Mendelian genetics). The topics of natural selection and evolution will be presented as a final unit.
