ARP 173 - Music Notation with Sibelius3 Cr.
Contact Hours Per Week: 3 Lec.
This course is a hands-on introduction to Sibelius Music Notation Software. Students will receive instruction on computer and Sibelius basics, including score creation, copying and editing, MIDI transcription, advanced playback features, and part preparation. Emphasis will be on learning keyboard shortcuts and defining personal house styles to improve the look and function of the students’ scores, as well as the speed at which they create them. A basic understanding of musicianship, computers, and musical notation is needed. Recommended for Audio Recording Production and Music majors.

Pre-Requisites: MUS 102 or with permission from the Music Coordinator
