The Career
More than ever, business is carried out in a global arena. As our world becomes more economically connected, there is an increased need for business people with an international perspective set upon a strong foundation in business skills. In a global arena, each aspect of management — marketing, operations, supply chain management, etc., — must be carried out with sensitivity to cultural, geographic and economic differences that may exist between regions and countries.
The NCCC Approach
The associate in science program is a two-year academic degree program for students who are considering a career in international business and plan to transfer to a four-year institution for the completion of their baccalaureate degree and, perhaps, master’s degree. The purpose of this program is to provide degree candidates with a foundation in both business and general education classes, providing an interdisciplinary appreciation of the world, while developing a strong foundation in business skills as well.
This degree program offers transfer opportunities upon completion of all course work. Graduates may transfer to SUNY Brockport, D’Youville College and Canisius College for undergraduate and graduate degrees in International Business.
Admission and Curriculum Change Requirements
Students admitted in September and January. International Business is offered as a full-time or part-time day program or part-time evening program. Because of the sequencing of courses, it may take longer than eight semesters to complete the part-time evening program or four semesters to complete the full-time day program if a student begins in a spring semester.
