Advanced Placement

The Visual Arts Department at NCCC recognizes advanced placement (AP) credits. To earn AP credits upon matriculation in the Fine Arts curriculum, the student must submit a portfolio for review by an art faculty evaluation committee to determine the proper application for the AP credits. The student must contact the Fine Arts program coordinator during the first two weeks of classes to schedule an appointment for portfolio review. After review of the portfolio, AP credit could be applied to an art elective. Students should obtain detailed guidelines for portfolio submission from the Fine Arts program coordinator.
