Nursing Quality Point Ranking System

 

A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 is required to be accepted into the Nursing Program (for high school students, this GPA is 80%).

In addition to the GPA minimum, students may earn additional quality points for the completion of co-requisite courses and relevant work completed prior to their application for Nursing. The Nursing Quality Point Ranking System is utilized as an objective way to further evaluate applicants for admission into the Nursing Program. The more quality points earned, the higher the student is ranked.

Candidates for Nursing must be able to provide the following substantiating documents to earn points in the following categories:

  1. Completion of degrees:official transcripts
  2. Completion of certificate program: official transcript and/or copy of certificate
  3. Current employment:copy of LPN, CNA, CMA, Surgical Tech or EMT license and a letter from employer verifying dates of employment
  4. Military Service:copy of DD214, or copy of military record brief (ERB, SRB, SURF, etc.)
  5. Volunteer Service:letter, on agency letterhead, from organization where work was performed including dates and total number of hours completed


The maximum number of points that can be accumulated for ranking is 30.
