PSY 111 - Advanced Introduction to Psychology

3 Cr.
Contact Hours Per Week: 3 Lec.

This course follows PSY 110, Introduction to Psychology.  It is recommended for students considering psychology as a major, though it would be appropriate for any student who desires a more in-depth knowledge of the basic areas of psychology which are secondary topics in PSY 110.  Primary topics include the history of psychology; sensation and perception; cognition; intelligence; emotion; growth and development; stress, health and coping; states of consciousness; and social psychology.  This course will focus on research methods and statistics in greater depth than is covered in PSY 110.  In addition, this course will provide a service learning component.

Pre-Requisites: PSY 110 with a grade of C or better
