This course introduces students interested in elementary education to current literacy theories and practices supportive of diverse populations and congruent with NYS Learning Standards. Students are required to participate in school-based activities that support course objectives.
They will complete a minimum of 20 hours of field experience in public or private school classrooms, grades 1-6, with NYS certified teachers. (Usually offered Fall and Spring semesters.)
Pre-Requisites:EDU 201, ENG 101, and minimum overall G.P.A. of 2.5.
