HUS 101 - Introduction Human Services

3 Cr.
Contact Hours Per Week: 3 Lec.
This course offers a comprehensive overview of the field of Human Services, exploring its historical roots, core principles, and practical applications. Students will examine the definition and characteristics of human service provision and gain insight into its diverse subsystems, including health, education, housing, and justice services. The course traces the historical development of social work and welfare systems, with emphasis on major movements, legislation, and socio-political shifts from the Elizabethan Poor Laws to modern-day policies.
