MAS 215 - Neurology

3 Cr.
Contact Hours Per Week: 3 Lec.

The human nervous system is studied as a major regulatory system of the body.  This course examines the embryology of the spinal cord and brain, the development and significance of dermatomes and myotomes, as well as the structure and function of the nervous system, including the central nervous system (CNS), the peripheral nervous system (PNS), the autonomic nervous system (ANS), reflexes, spinal nerve plexi, and special senses.  The correlation of signs and symptoms of common neurologic pathologies with typical structure and function will be explored.  Restricted to Massage Therapy students, or with permission of the instructor. Restricted to Massage Therapy students, or with permission of the instructor. 
Pre-Requisites: MAS 116, MAS 116L, MAS 219, MAS 219L, MAS 230
Concurrent Requirement: Pre-requisites that may be met concurrently: MAS 218, MAS 218L, MAS 231
