MAS 130 - Human Body Fundamentals for Massage Therapists

4 Cr.
Contact Hours Per Week: 4 Lec.

This course expands upon the knowledge gained in BIO 117, Human Biology, with a comprehensive examination of those body systems of particular significance to the massage therapist. This includes:  the integumentary, muscular, myofascial, articular, cardiovascular, lymphatic, pulmonary, and endocrine systems.  The interrelationships among all body systems and the regulation of physiological functions involved in maintaining homeostasis and the relevance to the manual therapist will be considered. Restricted to Massage Therapy students.   
Pre-Requisites: MAS 111, MAS 112, MAS 112L, MAS 113, MAS 113L, BIO 117/L
Concurrent Requirement: Pre-requisites that may be met concurrently: MAS 114, MAS 115, MAS 115L
