MAS 219 - Massage Therapy Modalities1 Cr. Contact Hours Per Week: 1 Lec.
This lecture course is designed to present an overview of the most practiced massage therapy modalities not previously discussed. The following will be introduced in lecture: Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Energy Work, Infant/Pediatric Massage, Oncology Massage, Cupping, Instrument Assisted Soft-Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), Active Isolated Stretching, Craniosacral Therapy, Positional Release Therapy, Hot Stone Massage, Reflexology, Sports Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release Therapy, Neuromuscular Therapy, and Pre-Natal Massage. This course is meant to introduce students to a variety of bodywork treatment options that are available for continuing education or advanced certification training after graduation. Restricted to MAS students. Usually offered Fall semester Pre-Requisites: MAS 114, MAS 115, MAS 115L, MAS 130 Concurrent Requirement: Pre-requisites that may be met concurrently: MAS 116, MAS 116L, MAS 219L, MAS 230
