MAS 219L - Massage Therapy Modalities Lab1 Cr. Contact Hours Per Week: 3 Lab
This laboratory course parallels the content of MAS 219, Modalities for Massage Therapists Lecture. The student will develop basic skills in the various massage therapy modalities not discussed in previous courses. These modalities include: Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Energy Work, Infant/Pediatric Massage, Oncology Massage, Cupping, Instrument Assisted Soft-Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), Active Isolated Stretching, Craniosacral Therapy, Positional Release Therapy, Hot Stone Massage, Reflexology, Sports Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release Therapy, Neuromuscular Therapy, and Pre-Natal Massage. This course is meant to introduce students to the skills in the variety of bodywork treatment options that are available for advanced certification training after graduation. Restricted to MAS students. Usually offered Fall semester Pre-Requisites: MAS 114, MAS 115, MAS 115L, MAS 130 Concurrent Requirement: Pre-requisites that may be met concurrently: MAS 116, MAS 116L, MAS 219, MAS 230
