MED 210 - Introduction to Medical Informatics

3 Cr.
Contact Hours Per Week: 2 Lec., 3 Lab

Introduction to Medical Informatics provides an overview of the healthcare informatics field, combining perspectives in medicine, computer usage and the sciences. The students will develop medical office computer skills through the introduction of theory as well as software applications for electronic medical record. The course covers the organization of medical information, the effective management of electronic information and its impact on medicine and medical research. Practical applications will be discussed and utilized based on case histories.

Pre-Requisites: MED 101, MED 102, MED 134, MED 135, MED 160, MED 261L, BIO 213 E/L, BIO 214 E/L
