MAS 130 - Human Body Fundamentals for Massage Therapists

Contact Hours Per Week: 4 Lec.

This course expands upon the knowledge gained in BIO 117, Human Biology, with a comprehensive examination of those body systems of particular significance to the massage therapist. This includes: the integumentary, muscular, myofascial, articular, cardiovascular, lymphatic, pulmonary, and endocrine systems. The interrelationships among all body systems and the regulation of physiological functions involved in maintaining homeostasis and the relevance to the manual therapist will be considered. Restricted to Massage Therapy students.
Pre-Requisites: MAS 100, MAS 101, MAS 101L, MAS 102, MAS 102L, BIO 117, BIO 117L
Concurrent Requirement: Pre-reqs that may be met concurrently: MAS 103, MAS 103L, MAS 104, MAS 104L, MAS 105, MAS 105L
